Header and Lean-rail
Optional header rails or lean-Rails
The Redpath "Header Rail" and "Lean-Rail" option is a popular choice for many Redpath shelters built. This large diameter round tube rail is easy on the cow's coats and is strong enough to resist the weight of the animals.
Header rails are typically positioned at a height that suits the specific cow size and also the feeding method that has been chosen the rails may be set at any height desired by Redpath builders - or the customer may wish to simply fit the Header-rail at a later date when the floor heights/levels are known.
An 'extended' version of the header rail is also available as an optional extra, which allows the cows to reach a little farther out into the feed zone.
Lean-rails may be fitted as part of the original construction or as an after-market option at a later date. Lean rails are used to help retain the cows within the structure and prevent the need to operate electric fencing within the shelter. As many as three Lean-rails might be fitted if required.
Farmers may also fit their own type / design of Lean-rails or Header-rail if they desire, and Redpath will assist with advising the recommended attachment method to our building.
